My AC runs all day but the house still feels clammy. What is going on?

What should I check before I call for AC repair or heating repair?

Check that the thermostat has fresh batteries and is set to the mode you want, look for a tripped breaker at the panel, change the filter if it is grey and loaded, clear leaves and grass clippings away from the outdoor unit, and walk the house confirming supply vents are open. Anything involving gas, refrigerant or high voltage is ours to handle, not yours.
I smell gas near the furnace. What do I do?
Leave the building right away, take everyone with you, and do not flip switches on your way out. From outside, call 911 or your gas utility. Once they have cleared the home, call us and we will look at the furnace. The same applies if a carbon monoxide alarm sounds. Get out first, call for help, then call us.
How fast can you get someone out, and what should I have ready?

Have ready the age of the system if you know it, the brand on the outdoor unit or furnace cabinet, what the thermostat reads versus how the house feels, any noises or smells, and whether a breaker has tripped.
