Homeowners' pick for heating and cooling across Virginia and the Mid-Atlantic

Gas Furnace Installation

We install gas furnaces in homes across Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, Washington DC, North Carolina, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and West Virginia, replacing a furnace that has failed, cracked a heat exchanger, or reached the end of a long run. Most homeowners call us after a heating repair visit turns up a problem that is not worth chasing again. If you smell gas, leave the building first, call 911 or your gas utility, then call us. Otherwise, reach out and we will look at the furnace, the ducts and the venting together.

What a gas furnace installation actually involves

We start at the house, not the equipment. That means measuring the heating load, looking at duct runs, and checking how the flue and combustion air are set up. Then we pull the old furnace, adapt the plenum and return, connect gas and electrical, run the venting correctly, and set the thermostat and controls. Older brick homes and 1950s ranches often need sheet metal work at the transitions. We finish by firing the unit, checking the burner, and confirming airflow at the registers.

What we check and install along the way

A furnace is only as good as what it is connected to. We check static pressure and return air, since an undersized return will short-cycle a new furnace fast. We look at duct sealing in crawlspaces, where damp air and loose joints are common across the region. We confirm the flue termination, condensate routing on condensing units, gas pressure at the manifold, and safety controls. Filter access gets sorted out too, because a filter you cannot reach is a filter nobody changes.

How we decide replacement is the right call

We repair when repair makes sense. Replacement moves to the front when the heat exchanger is cracked, when parts are no longer available, when the furnace has needed heater repair two or three winters running, or when the cabinet and burners are corroded past reliable service. Age alone does not decide it. We will tell you plainly what we found, what a furnace repair would cover, and what it would not. If repair buys you real time, we say so.

Gas Furnace Installation — quick answers

How long does a gas furnace installation take?

Most straightforward swaps run a single day. If the ducts need reworking, the flue has to be rerouted, or we are moving the furnace within a crawlspace or closet, plan on two days.

Can I keep my existing ducts and thermostat?

Often yes. We test the ducts for leakage and airflow first, since crawlspace runs in older homes frequently need sealing or resizing. Many thermostats carry over, though some new furnaces need a compatible control.

Do I need a new flue with a high-efficiency furnace?

Usually. Condensing furnaces vent through PVC out a sidewall or roof rather than the old masonry chimney, and they need a condensate drain. We work that out before install day so there are no surprises.

How it works

  1. Step 1

    Tell us the symptom

Call or fill in the form and describe what changed. Warm air, short cycling, a smell, water near the indoor unit. Details like that help us load the right parts before we leave.

  2. Step 2

    We diagnose the whole system

We check the thermostat, the indoor unit, the outdoor unit and the ductwork, including runs in crawlspaces where damp air and loose joints quietly cause weak airflow and long run times.

  3. Step 3

    You approve the fix

We explain what failed, what it takes to repair it, and what we would watch next season. Nothing gets replaced without your yes, and we clean up before we leave.

Why homeowners call us

  • Humidity is our home groundMuggy summers and damp shoulder seasons drive most of the calls we take. We look at moisture and airflow together, not the cooling number alone, because a clammy house often means a sizing or duct problem.
  • Crawlspace ducts get checkedOlder homes across the region run supply ducts through vented crawlspaces. Crushed flex, disconnected boots and soaked insulation show up constantly, and we get under the house to look instead of guessing from the register.
  • Heating and cooling bothSame crew for air conditioning repair in July and heating repair in January. We know how your furnace, heat pump and air handler share ducts and a blower, so one visit covers the whole system.
  • Plain talk on repair or replaceWhen a repair makes sense, we repair it. When a system is failing in ways that will keep costing you, we say so and explain why, then leave the decision with you and your timeline.
  • All major brands, gas & electricCarrier, Trane, Lennox, Goodman, Rheem, York and more, as an independent company.
  • Straight answersIf a system is not worth repairing, we say so, often right on the phone.
